Sector Skills Assessments

Sector skills assessments are produced annually. They are aimed at stakeholders, public sector partners and anyone with an interest in the current and future skills and labour market issues facing the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism sector.

Each sector skills assessment highlights:

  • the profile of the sector
  • what drives skills demand
  • current workforce and skills needs
  • future workforce and skill needs
  • conclusions and policy implications

Separate reports are produced for each UK nation, addressing the differing policy landscapes, while the UK-wide report sets the issues in a wider context and compares the situation in each nation.

The skills priority paper summarises, in a more concise version, the key issues outlined in the main report.

The sector skills assessments complement our annual State of the Nation report for businesses, which takes a more ‘employer-friendly' look at the sector's labour market and skills landscape.
