Geographic
The hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism sector is an important sector across the whole of the United Kingdom, in terms of employment and economic output. In most cases it is seen as a priority sector.
Whilst the skills and labour needs of the sector do not change geographically, each region and nation is starting out from different points when we look at their current skills and qualifications profiles. Consequently, different mechanisms may be needed to bring the sector to the same high skill levels across the UK.
To help understand the current skills and labour structure of the sector across the UK, a series of profiles have been produced to highlight where each region and nation are starting out from.
