People 1st NOS

This section contains information on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) that People 1st has recently reviewed.

As more are updated, they will be added to this list. All accredited vocational qualifications are based on, or directly derived from, NOS for the relevant area of work, where they exist.

Gambling Operations

The gambling operations NOS were approved in February 2007. They are applicable to those working in bingo, betting, casino and gaming machine environments.

Events Management and Temporary Structures

These NOS are for people working in or interested in the events industry.

This suite also includes NOS for those involved in the provision and erection of temporary structures, including marquees and exhibition spaces for events.

Hospitality Supervision and Leadership

These NOS cover leadership, working relationships, resource control, customer service and health, safety and hygiene.

In addition, there are specific NOS available on the supervision of food production, food service, drinks service, management of functions, housekeeping, portering and concierge, reception and reservations and bookings.

Travel and Tourism

The NOS for travel cover leisure and business travel services and tour operators (head office and field staff). The NOS for tourism cover the areas of visitor services and guiding.
