Apprenticeships 101: New guide from People 1st launched to help employers implement the new-style apprenticeships

22 May 2017

Although the new apprenticeship levy kicked in on April 6, businesses who aren’t yet ‘apprenticeship-ready’ still have time to develop an effective strategy and put their plans in place.

To help employers understand the nuts and bolts of the new system, People 1st has produced Apprenticeships 101, a free 20-page guide to the new apprenticeships. Packed with valuable advice (which will be regularly updated), it also includes useful links and tips for employers.

Annette Allmark, director of strategic policy at People 1st comments:

“The new employer-driven apprenticeship standards and the introduction of the apprenticeship levy present businesses with an opportunity to embed apprenticeships within their talent strategy and gain a return on investment – but it can be a steep learning curve.

“Putting a coherent apprenticeship strategy in place ensures that employers can maximise their apprenticeship levy investment. We’ve produced this guide to help businesses do just that, as well as giving them a detailed understanding of the mechanics of the new process.”

The guide is available for download here.
