Mission And Role
The Academy's role
To identify, endorse and promote qualifications and learning opportunities which are delivered to National Skills Academy for Hospitality standards. This delivery may take place in universities, colleges of further education, employer businesses and dedicated hospitality schools.
Its role is also to:
- Identify inspirational solutions in three key areas that support companies and individuals to gain competitive advantage - including management and leadership, customer service and craft skills, which are central to addressing the industry's skills gaps.
- Provide industry and learners with an assurance that the National Skills Academy for Hospitality logo means excellence and adds value wherever it is situated.
The Academy's mission
- Universally trusted brand - by learners, employers, employees, parents and other career influencers
- Benchmark – providing an assurance of excellence in programmes based on their content and delivery standards thereby raising the standards in the hospitality industry
- Brand - the vehicle for marketing the excellent innovative solutions endorsed by the National Skills Academy for Hospitality. Work to support other organisations' excellent programmes and making them more readily available
- Focus on three key areas to raise the standards of excellence; management and leadership, customer service
and chef skills
The Academy is about:
- Excellence - the pinnacle of learning as defined by industry
- A stamp or seal that is earned and has currency with the assurance of excellence based on content and delivery
- Shining a light on excellence and making it more accessible
- Providing students, employees, employers and influencers with a brand they can trust that has an assurance of excellence wherever that brand is situated
- Working to support other organisations' excellent programmes
- Workplaces, colleges and universities learning hospitality - including businesses engaged in the delivery of food, drink and accommodation services
