National Register of professional PCV Driver Trainers

The register allows operators and driver trainers to demonstrate that they are meeting the national standards set by the industry.

To register, or to re-register your details, please check that you meet the criteria and follow the instructions below.

Registration criteria

Registration on the National Register of Professional PCV Driver Trainers is granted to an individual who:

• Holds a valid vocational licence for the appropriate vehicle category ,with no more than six points endorsed during the previous three years
• Can demonstrate regular involvement in driving instruction in the appropriate vehicle/licence category
• Has achieved the full Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Passenger Carrying Vehicle Driving Instruction, with supporting documentation.

The initial registration on the National Register of Professional PCV Driver Trainers is valid for three years.

Re-registration

Re-registration on the National Register of Professional PCV Driver Trainers is granted to an individual who:

• Has been previously registered on the register.
• Holds a valid vocational licence for the appropriate vehicle category, with no more than six points endorsed during the previous three years
• Can demonstrate regular involvement in driving instruction in the appropriate vehicle/licence category
• Holds evidence of the full Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Passenger Carrying Vehicle Driving Instruction
• Has been re-assessed by qualified assessors and verifiers and confirmed as meeting national standards in the mandatory units of the new NVQ:
  1. Provide professional driving instruction service in the Passenger Carrying Vehicle industry
  2. Demonstrate safe driving as a driver trainer

Re-registration onto the National Register of Professional PCV Driver Trainers is valid for three years.

Re-register by 31 March 2013 and receive a £10 discount on your fee.

To register or re-register, you will need to complete the National Register of Professional PCV Driver Trainers application form and return it to People 1st.

You will also need to:

• Provide copies of all requested documents/evidence.
• Submit the registration fee of £50.00 for three years with the application form.
