NOS retail review
Setting standards of performance
A national occupational standard (NOS) is a statement that describes what an individual needs to do, know and understand in order to demonstrate competence in an occupational function. People 1st works with representatives across the industry to ensure that these standards reflect the occupational competence of a given job role.
Review of national occupational standards for retail
A review of the national occupational standards (NOS) for retail is underway and following a period of consultation which has included speaking with businesses across the UK to gain your valuable feedback, we have redrafted the standards. A large part of this exercise has been to update language and content for today’s specification and to reflect current industry trends and terminology.
During the review we have also looked to incorporate parity with the new apprenticeship standards in England.
Please review the standards below and feedback via our short online survey by 3 March 2017. If you would prefer to feedback via email or set up a time to speak to us directly, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The NOS for retail are split into eight suites and below you can download the relevant zip file containing the revised standards.
