One voice for professional development
People 1st successfully led a bid to the Growth and Innovation Fund (GIF) to create a 21st century guild for the hospitality industry in England.
The Hospitality Guild brings together industry bodies, businesses and individuals to promote training, growth, innovation and careers in the sector. It provides a single authoritative voice on skills to government and the public.
It strives to change the image of the hospitality industry as a professional provider of training, careers and growth; raise the aesthetics of vocational education in the sector; and simplify the way employers can access the skilled employees and high-quality training programmes their businesses need.
The Hospitality Guild has the support of Government ministers, professional associations, large multinational businesses, and other leading employers.
“Guilds are an example of a longstanding truth whose time was once, and whose time has come again... I hope the Hospitality Guild can be a model for other sectors to build prosperity in order for this country to succeed.”
John Hayes MP, Former Minister for Skills
The Hospitality Guild was developed by People 1st in consultation with employers and in response to extensive research into the needs of the industry.
