Businesses Share Diploma Best Practice
Employers, learning practitioners and students are coming together to share their experiences of the new Diploma in Hospitality this month, as part of a showcase event to celebrate its first year of teaching.
The Diploma in Hospitality is a new qualification for 14-19 year-olds, developed by People 1st. It was delivered in schools and colleges for the first time from September 2009, and combines theory with practical learning to ensure that learners gain the skills, knowledge and experience that employers really need.
The showcase event celebrates the hard work of those currently involved in the delivery of the Diploma in Hospitality, and will provide encouragement for those preparing for delivery in September 2010.
Event Details:
Time: 5pm – 8:15pm
Date: 12 May 2010
Location: The Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, Portman Square, London W1
The event programme includes an introduction from Michael Gray, general manager of The Churchill, best practice examples from the Diploma's employer champions, and the opportunity for participants to meet other delivery partners and employers from their region.
People 1st's Diploma in Hospitality manager, Heather Taylor, commented: “This event provides a great opportunity for employers who are considering becoming involved in the delivery of the Diploma to see how other businesses have benefited and meet their local learning providers, and for those who are currently involved to share their success stories.”
