Brian Wisdom - Chief Executive
Brian Wisdom has been chief executive of People 1st since November 2004.
He is responsible for promoting the company's work at the heart of the skills agenda in the UK.
This includes representing the sector and its needs to Government, its agencies and learning providers.
Brian is also a non-executive director on the boards of the National Skills Academy for Hospitality and Exemplas Holdings Ltd, a leading economic development and business support company operating in 17 different countries.
He has extensive industrial experience in the sector, having previously held senior roles at Grand Metropolitan, Whitbread and Six Continents PLC (now Mitchells and Butlers) and strategic consultancy experience at Post Office Ltd.
Brian is also closely involved in a number of bodies working towards a successful 2012 for the tourism industry.
He chairs the Customer Service Skills Legacy Committee of seven sector skills councils on behalf of the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Skills Taskforce, charged with maximising the benefits of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the area surrounding the Olympic rowing regatta at Dorney Lake, Berkshire.
Brian chairs the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils in Northern Ireland.
Brian is a graduate of Durham University. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the Institute of Hospitality, and the Institute of Travel and Tourism, and a member of the Tourism Society.
